A Narative of the Capture & Detention of my Paternal Grand Mother by the Shawnee Indians September 23,1779A. R. Fowler, Christmas in the year 1956. Margaret Erskine died June 3, 1842 in the 90th year of her age. It was in the Fall, 23rd Sept.of 1779 that Margaret Paulee with her husband John Paulee ( Polly ), with one infant male child about one year old, Set out from the County of Monroe VA,   on a journey to Kentucky, for the purpose of establishing themselves, when they were attack
